Oratorium 2010 will bring together an orchestra of 24 and a choir of 38 young professional musicians.  Along with times of professional preparation together with conductors and section leaders from the orchestra (see their biographies in the section „About us”), there will be daily times of worship as well as presentations and discussions that are specific to musicians. Orchestra rehearsals will be conducted in the English language.

Musicians who are at the beginning of their professional musical careers can participate in the Oratorium Project. Selection will be based on a professional recommendation and a musical recording. If you are interested in filling one of the positions listed in the “Instrumentalists” or “Chorists “ sections, please follow these three steps:

1)   Download the registration form. Complete the form and send it as an attachment in an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

2)    Together with the completed form, also send a CV and contact information for a personal reference (professor, conductor, or professional section leader with whom you have collaborated), a person whom you would like for us to contact for a professional recommendation.

3)   If you did not participate last year in the Oratorium project, please make a recording of two contrasting solo works (or movements from two works). The duration of the recording should be between 10-20 minutes. The recording can be sent after the rejistration form and CV.

The deadline for submitting these materials is May 7, 2010.

The Oratorium project will take place between July 18-25, 2010. All preparation and the first concert will be held in Cluj and the other two concerts will take place in Timişoara and Bucureşti. All participants will be required to be present for the entire duration of the project.

Costs

The cost for each Oratorium participant this year will be approximately 1800 RON. Those who are selected to participate will be offered a scholarship of 1550 RON, thus the participant will only have to pay a participation fee of 250 RON at the time that they confirm their intention to participate in the project (by July 1).
